Stress relief

Well, as Loulee had mentioned, the stress was real high here. It's one thing to buy locally, where you can travel back and forth with in a moments notice..but 4 hours away, is a long distance to travel. Not bad, but long.

I showed Dh, why I wanted the measurements, I can now get prices on things, I haven't had to purchase before..tiles, "Pergo" flooring, maybe carpet... I had no idea what the prices could have been..and now I have a small clue.

I can also make a plan of attack on the rooms, which one first..etc.

So, I have decided, we will attack the bedrooms first, and make them ready for occupancy. Before I can though, I have to wait to get an electrician up there...sigh....so..since money is not an option for that right now, I can begin to plan the upstairs bath.

The contractor, determined, the bath upstairs isn't large enough...OK...and I need it larger why? In order to enlarge the bath, one bedroom had to be decreased in size...ummm...no? I don't want to go about changing things drastically in the house, I don't mind putting the money into it, but first things first. I think if I decide down the road to have a larger bath..it can be done..

My basics are prepping the rooms for insulation, paint, carpet...and the actual bath..I am hoping to spare the tub/sink/and toilet. They are original to the house, at least the upstairs ones are. The downstairs bath, doesn't seem so..it looks like a later addition to the house. I will keep it as a bath, but it needs some new fixtures. I think first is a new toilet..we can use the sink for a while till it's time to redo that bath, I just want to make it usable in the meantime.

Now, tiling...what style is in? (laughing) I know what I like.....probably can't afford that much to tile the room, I am thinking of the floor, and 1/2 way up the wall...

DO I choose a color? Do I keep it simple...I like white, but white isn't a good choice for me...any suggestions?

My three pics...

Layout of rooms (I think)

Ok, after much debate..and lots of frustrations..I made a somewhat layout of the room s in the new house. I wanted to be sure of two thing..just two, after the closing, I wanted to be sure to get loads of pics....(hmm I got three) and the measurements of all the rooms.

I can't just run back over to check them, so it was a must for preparations into flooring, sheetrock, tiles..etc...I just wanted to get a rough idea. Well...it's rough alright! I tried to put the rooms on paper..and things are just not right. I did however, had to lay them out, on paper, forgetting measurements that didn't work out.

Anyway, here is the house layout.

A quick note

I got a closing date!!!!! January 18th! Next Friday! Woohoo!!!

Getting there?

Well, I had gotten a call from my Attorney...they are ready for the closing.

Of course, maybe I ask too much, or expect too much, but they asked if I was ready..and yeah, I am...so I asked, "How much will it cost to close?"

Hmm..they can't tell me that until we have a date set. (oh-kay) I figured by this time, they would already know? Is it a secret? How do I know if I am ready for the closing, if I don't know how much money I am going to need? Is it me???

I realize, I have to pay the year's taxes...and I have to pay for the leftover fuel costs...I don't know what the Attorney will charge for his services..I believe it's a pro-rated figure, (%) of the house cost? I have never been here before (buying a house) so I don't know these things...what I can't understand though, is if the Attorney's office has their stuff done, why don't they already know this?

I think it's just another way to keep me guessing...and again...waiting...and waiting...and waiting....and wondering!

I hope, setting a date is a matter of a phone call....and since they called me yesterday, maybe they will contact the seller's attorney today and then let me know??
